Question of the Day

Which one is Fantasy?  Which one is History?

Of all the Heinlein works they decide to make into a movie they HAD to choose Starship Troopers which was a lightweight among Heinlein's works.

I'd love for them to make movie versions of "Stranger in a Strange Land", or even "I Will Fear No Evil". But no, we get pablum

However, Red Tail is based on actual events of World War II. I'm watching Ken Burn's "The War" right now and they touch on the all black regiments that fought in WW II.

I though it queer how one of them just died after seeing the movie.
I hate to say this but I was channel surfing and landed on Fox and they showed the way these men were treated. It was just horrible.

Stranger in a Strange Land is indeed a great work, but in the current socio-religious climate, it will never be green lit. The work is from the early 60's when society was open to the themes contained within. Now? Not a snowball's chance on Mars.
